First Day of School 2008-2009

Today was the first official day of school for the 2008-2009 school year !!! Yeah !! So glad it finally got here...Now please remind me of how excited I am in a few weeks when I am complaining about running here and there and all the school activities and not to mention the dreaded HOMEWORK !!! How is it that they go to school all day long five days a week and still have a ton of Homework? Is it so that the children can make the parents feel dumb by knowing "more" than the parents do ?

Yesterday Jeremy helped or tortured himself and worked with Mike on the barn that he is building and I got to keep Cooper for the day. Now I know it has been 5 years since I had a one year old in my house but it is amazing how much you forget in 5 years. He was such a joy to have. He is such a happy little boy and kept us entertained all day long !!! Thank you Jeremy and Toni for letting us keep him.

CRAZY..CRAZY !!

Well, I know it has been a while since I last posted. We lost Mike's grandmother this week and I have been very busy with the funeral and family things. She is now with her beloved Frank and is not in any more pain. We will miss you Grandmother Bostick !!! We Love You !!!

The kids start school on Monday morning !!! Yeah !!! But...I was going to use this week to get their school shopping and school supplies so I wouldn't have to go on the weekend and fight the crowds...but I guess I will be one of the MANY people who have waited until the very last minute to do school shopping !! For those of you who do not know...I DETEST shopping !! I hate shopping with a passion !!!!

LaShae started having pain issues again last week and went to the Doctor on Friday. It was determined that she has H-Pilori. Well, this week the pain isn't any better so she went back to the Doctor yesterday and they ran a test for gall bladder and pancreas. The results were negative on those things (which are good) but we still don't know where the pain is coming from. A CT scan has been ordered for in the morning to see if they can find out what is causing the pain. The poor girl has just had a really hard time lately.

Rhaeden is playing football and seems to be enjoying it. He is in the full contact Pee-Wee league this year with all the equipment. They have been practicing on Monday's and Tuesday's. He is really ready for school to start.

D'Nae is ready for school. I think she is more ready for the "social" aspect rather than the learning..but none the less she is ready for school to start. Today will be her last "full" day of work. She works tomorrow but that is only until noon. They are going to keep her on part-time and let her work weekends and school holidays. Gas Money...Yipee !!!

Maegen will tell you she is NOT ready for school. She just wants to stay at daycare. First grade is going to be Hard !! I just haven't brought myself to tell her that she has eleven more years of school !! ha ha

Hopefully next week things will get back to "normal" if there is such a thing. At least I will have a routine !!! I truly believe things run a lot smoother and everyone is a lot happier when you can stay on a schedule. I know it will be crazy running here and there for football games and after school activities..but at least it will be a routine that we can get used too.

ELANA THAYE SCOTT !!!!

Well, I am happy to say that a dear friend whom I haven't seen or spoken too in several years called me last Friday afternoon. We talked for over an hour (probably closer to two hours) but anyway it was wonderful catching up on all that has been going on with her and her family Will and Ryan.

I am hoping that we can stay in touch...but you know what...she has to CREATE a blog to do that !!!! I spoke with her again briefly yesterday afternoon before I had to take Maegen to the doctor and she told me that creating a blog would be her project last night !!!! So, I am anxiously awaiting to see what she writes and to see pictures of her family.

So....ELANA THAYE....get typing and creating !!! I'm sure Ryan can help you if you need help !! ha ha You know I have to give you a hard time !! It's been too long not speaking to you or seeing you for me NOT to give you a hard time. Also, I was just wondering if you really did read this !! You can leave me a comment to let me know !!

I also think I "willed" you something when I graduated....do you remember what it was?? I think it was "more time in the morning" !!! Has it helped any ??? I guess I will have to give you still "more time" to get your blog up and running !!! ha ha

I loved talking to you and hopefully we can do it again soon !!! We may even have to try to get together one of these weekends !! Stay in touch and Take Care !!

BEEN A WHILE

Well, I know its been a while since I last posted anything. Work is just crazy and this is the only time that I can post anything. Ya see...when you live out in the "sticks" there just isn't an internet provider that has good speed...not to mention EVERYTHING is long distance....and when you are use to satellite internet a 56K modem is just HORRIBLE !!! Man..how did we ever manage ??

12 more days until school starts...I am counting the days !! I really don't know why because it will just be crazy, but my children are bored !! And when you have bored children the nerves and the tension in the house are on end !! Mike, D'Nae and I come home from working all day and want to relax a little and the other two are just wired...wanting to do this or that..and inevitably end up fighting...Bored kids are NOT GOOD !!!

D'Nae has been at cheerleading camp all last week. The football boys have a scrimmage this Saturday so I guess we are really gearing up for football season !! Yeah !! I just love Friday night 6-man football. It is just awesome to watch. If you haven't seen a 6-man football game you really need to go watch one. They are normally way exciting !!

Rhaeden is playing in a Pee-Wee football league this year. He has pads, the helmet and the whole nine yards. He is really excited. He has only had 1 practice so far but is really geared up for it. Monday they will have practice in their pads instead of just in their shorts. I can't wait to see how some of the 5th and 6th grade boys take getting hit. I bet ALL of them can dish it out..but let's just see how many of them can take it !!

Maegen is complaining about hurting when she goes to the bathroom again. So, I have a Dr. appointment for her today. Let's just hope she is just making it up or this will be the 2nd infection in what 3 weeks....NOT GOOD !!! I am counting the days until school starts and she is NOT wanting to go to first grade. She thinks she will stay at Day Care. The teachers will "Miss" her if she goes back to school. So, I guess instead of a high school dropout..has anyone ever heard a Kindergarten drop out...since that's all she wants to do with school. Too funny !!! What can I say that I haven't said before...the kid is just a comedian.

Mike's grandmother finally got out of the hospital and moved into the nursing home here in Post. She had been in the hospital since the end of April. 4 months is an extremely long time to spend in the hospital. Hopefully she will adjust quickly and get on the road to recovery !!!

My dad had a birthday on Monday !! Do I dare tell you how "young" he is ??? Anyway, Mom and PaPa (with a little help from D'Nae) cooked pork chops, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, salad and canteloupe for supper. Just for the record...I was at football practice with Rhaeden from 6pm to 8pm is the reason I didn't help with the supper. LaShae and Quilla came down from Lubbock. Granny, Papa, LaShae, Quilla, Mom, Dad, Mike, D'Nae, Rhaeden, Maegen and myself were all their to eat supper and have cake and ice cream. Anyway...Happy Birthday Dad !!!
