More Football

Borden County won their football game Friday night which clinches a play-off spot. When they win this Friday they will be District Champions !!! Yeah !! The last week is our "bye" week so this Friday will be our last regular season game. Next week will be time to get ready for the play-offs !!! The Coyotes are 8-0 on the season and should finish the regular season undefeated at 9-0 !!! It's getting exciting !!! GO COYOTES !!!

D'Nae has her first basketball scrimmage Saturday against O'Donnell. I am ready for basketball to start..but not ready for football to be over !! ha ha It would be nice if we were playing both sports right up until December 13th (State game) !! Anyway, back to basketball..this will be their coaches first game ever to coach. This is his rookie year you might say.

Rhaeden finished up football Saturday against New Deal. They were suppose to play Lockney but Lockney didn't want to travel to Post so we played New Deal again. This time the outcome didn't go as well as the first time we played them. The boys played hard and have a lot to look forward to next year. Rhaeden forgot his jersey at home Saturday morning so he played as # 68 for the final game of the year.

LaShae Surgery

LaShae had surgery today. She had to be at the hospital at 8am this morning but they didn't start the procedure until lunch. They were able to remove the gall bladder lapriscopically and a lot (more than expected) of scar tissue from her apendectomy on July 13th. It was a little after 1pm when Mom called and she was in recovery. She is now at home and in bed. Dad has gone to get her medicine prescription filled and to get them something to eat. The Dr. told LaShae to eat something with Carbs like a baked potato. Mom said she was in some pain and is still groggy and a little nauseated. Of course, Quilla was extremely glad to see her and crawled into bed right beside her !! I'm sure Quilla will take excellent care of her !!!

Quick Update !!

I know you are probably getting tired of me saying how busy I am all the time !! This is no exception !! I just thought I would drop a little note to tell you what has been going on the last week:

D'Nae: she had District Cross-Country yesterday. She hates Cross-Country by the way..ha ha. She gets to start after school basketball work-outs tomorrow the 22nd. She is super thrilled about that and can't wait. Friday night is Borden County's big rival game with Sands. The winner should be the District Champion.

Rhaeden: he had his first ever play-off game Saturday at Hale Center and they lost 6-0. It was a very frustrating game. The kids played good and it just crushed them all to lose. But...the kids were HUGE !!! They had one kid that was kicking 27 yard field goals before the game. Amazing to me to be so young..10-12 year olds. They will play their final game Saturday at home in the Holiday Bowl (all the teams get to play a "bowl" game). It is just nice to give them one more chance. They will lose only 4 players so we have a lot to look forward too next year !!

Maegen: she just goes anywhere and everywhere that I take her with very little complaints. She had gymnastics yesterday and I think is enjoying it a little more every week. It is just something new and she is just a little nervous about it.

LaShae: she took her lab final Monday and will take her classroom exam Wednesday. On Thursday she will have surgery to remove her gall bladder. Hopefully she won't have any complications and will be able to get up and get moving rather quickly. She is suppose to start clinicals on Monday the 27th.

I forgot to wish my brother-in-law Jeremy a Happy Birthday yesterday !! Sorry...

Holiday !!

I guess it is a holiday for some people, but I am here at work !!! Working Hard !! I left my children asleep this morning. They got out early on Thursday afternoon because the Jr. High had a DISTRICT football game 3 1/2 hours away !! They are out of school today for Holiday and then on Friday the Varsity has a DISTRICT football game approx 3 hours and 44 minutes away (according to map quest) !! So the kids will get out of school again at 12:30pm. Now I don't know about you but I personally don't know where the UIL comes up with these district lines. How do you justify making a school travel 3 1/2 hours for a district football game when there are several small schools within 45 minutes of you ?? I just don't understand !!! I will leave that rant for a different day. I hope you enjoy your Holiday !!!

Okay..yesterday mom picked up some cupcakes for the football team for Rhaeden's birthday. Before they could get one I asked if anyone had given Rhaeden a whoopin'...well...instead of that they dog piled the poor little guy !!! Then they had fun with the cup cakes !!!

How would you like to be on the bottom of that pile ??? Not ME !!!! ha ha

Mike was home sick yesterday so...Rhaeden opened the gifts from Mom and Dad standing at the back of my car...They didn't want to get sick and I don't blame them !!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RHAEDEN !!!

First of all I want to wish Rhaeden a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!! Today he will be 11 years old..that is at 5:58 pm !! Not quite there yet although I did wish him a happy birthday this morning. What can I say about Rhaeden...let's see...out of my three children he is the most loving child I have. He makes a point every night to tell me Good-Night and to give me a good-night kiss. In the summer, if I go to bed before he does he comes in my room to tell me good-night. On the other hand...he has to be the most stubborn and "hot-headed" child of the three (he gets that from his dad) !!! ha ha He definately is a one-of-a-kind..you just never know which personality you will be dealing with !! He keeps you on your toes !! I wouldn't trade him for anything !! I LOVE YOU !!! Hope you have many..many more birthdays !!!

Rhaeden won his game on Saturday...It was a close one. It was 0-0 at halftime then in the 3rd quarter they were the first one to score. We came back and scored 12 unanswered points and won the game 12-6. Very stressfull !!!

A new member to our family...Bobbie (she is female, but because of her "bob" tail hence the name came)....I found under the hood of my car at work when we had all the rain a few weeks ago...

The newest member...Zaelie...an Australian Shepherd six weeks old !!!

Okay...I'm going to tell on myself now...I have already written "10-06-97" two times already today how many more times will I write this ??? October 6th is his birthday no matter what year it is....10-06-97 just goes together !!

Quick Update on Family

Sorry I haven't posted lately but I have been a bit under the weather. I went to the Dr. Wednesday and got a shot but it just hasn't kicked this junk in my head and chest.

Yesterday after school Maegen wasn't feeling to good so I took her to the Dr. this morning. The strep test came out negative so she is currently asleep on my couch here at work. Wish I could be asleep !! Maegen started gymnastics on Monday. She seemed to like it okay..she didn't have a whole lot to say about it. I will just have to wait and see how that is going to work out.

D'Nae hurt her Quad last Monday so she has had the stimulator on her thigh and heat/ice. She wasn't suppose to work out..but..she is stubborn and tried to work out Wednesday...didn't work...she was told to stay off of it until Monday..well the coach wasn't there on Friday so she tried to work out again..guess what...didn't work. Then we had the homecoming football game on Friday night which we won and are now 4-0 yeah !!! But she couldn't cheer the way she normally does...NO JUMPS !!! No leg kicks !!! She didn't look like she was enjoying it much..but on the flip side...she still has her voice and could yell....LOUDLY !!! ha ha

The Pee Wee football team lost their first game on Saturday. They have another tough game this Saturday against New Deal. If they beat New Deal and Crosbyton they will make the play-offs !! Yeah !!!

PaPa's niece, Patricia, died on Monday. Dad, Granny and PaPa are attending her memorial service today. No one even knew that she was sick. She had been battling metastatic breast cancer for 2 years.

LaShae had another test ran this morning on her gall bladder. Mom called about lunch and they were finished with the test and ate lunch. LaShae had to fast for the test so she was starving !!! They should know the results by Friday. Hopefully we can find out what has been causing her pain issues once and for all.
