Band Concert, Basketball, Birthday !!

I am going to continue backwards blogging and jump back to December 18th for the annual Christmas Band Concert. D'Nae is not in band this year but Maegen and Rhaeden are. This is Rhaeden's first year to actually play an instrument and he chose the saxophone. Maegen still sings for band. Maegen had to speak in the microphone during a speaking part and they both did very well.


























I back up even further to Monday the 15th when I got to see Maegen in gymastics and D'Nae playing a basketball game. I was running back and forth between gyms trying to watch the two of them. Maegen has really been working hard on gymnastics and we get to watch cartwheels, front rolls, back rolls, and back bends all the time. She still needs help on the back bends starting from a standing position. D'Nae played Stanton in a re-match. Stanton was the team that gave the girls their first loss of the season. The girls won the re-match !!! YEAH !!! Then on Tuesday the 16th, D'Nae played Wink in basketball and lost by 2. They led right up until the very end and Wink tied them at 43 a piece with 2:53 left on the clock and the girls just couldn't answer.













This is really hard on an OLD brain trying to remember things that happened two weeks ago !! I know I should have just blogged about it then..but I didn't and now I am paying for it !!! I still have Christmas to blog about..but I can't forget LaShae's birthday !! Today she is 22 !!! YIPEE !!!



























OKAY !!! One final note...for now !! There is a little boy in Maegen's class that is just a HOOT !! During the band concert he just makes the WHOLE audience laugh !! I will attempt to post a video of him "performing" remind you: he is like this everyday !!! He is on the second row just in case you can't identify him !!!

Okay now I am going to jump to the present day: D'Nae is playing in a basketball tournament yesterday and today. They lost last night but came back and won this morning. They will play again at 1pm today.

Backwards Blogging

I have got sooo much to blog about I don't even know where to start. Rhaeden and Maegen had a band concert, D'Nae had a basketball game, Christmas, Bland Christmas, Johnson Christmas, Wilson Christmas, and a basketball tournament..not to mention my hot water heater decided to go out Christmas morning !!!

So let me just skip around a little and start off with the hot water incident. After we had opened gifts at our house (pics later) it was time to start getting ready to go to another house. I jump (literally) in (and then right back out ) the shower. I stand outside of my shower and wash my hair and then jump in soap off and jump out !! I tell the kids to gather up their clothes they can take a shower at Granny and PaPa's. Remind you now...You can't buy a hot water heater on Christmas day !!! So then Friday we go to my mom and dads and so we get showers at their house. Saturday we have to go to Childress so we load up and go to Mike's Grandmothers house. Okay..we are now at Sunday...finally we are able to get a hot water heater. We get it put in about 1pm. At 3pm..NO HOT WATER !!!! I proceed to turn up the temperature. At 5pm NO HOT WATER !!! I proceed to try the "reset" switch. At 7pm NO HOT WATER !!! So we call Mike's brother Jarrett who has an Ohm (?) Meter and he comes out and checks to make sure it is getting electricity. Well, the top heating element is getting electricity but the bottom one is not. So after examining the heater it is determined it is wired wrong. You see...the top element has the green and yellow wires on the left and the bottom one has the red, black, yellow, and green wires ALL on the right side...so they move the yellow and green wires to the left side. At 9pm I HAVE HOT WATER !!! YEAH !!! We finally get to shower in our OWN home !!!!

Okay..I told you this was going to be backwards blogging mainly because I have pics from Saturday. I had to download all my other pics at the house to make room on the memory card for more. On Saturday we went to Childress to the Wilson Family Reunion. I think about 45 adults showed up. MOST of the people were from the Joe Wilson, Jr. Family. When we all got up to take our "family" picture..there wasn't a whole lot of people left sitting around !!! ha ha Here are a few pics.....

Okay not only is this MONDAY, DECEMBER 29th and the end of the year after a holiday..but...my accounting software is not working !! AT ALL !!! I have had tech support working on it for about 3 hours today and they can't get it to working. So...they are going to overnight me a disk to try and fix things. HOPEFULLY...before lunch tomorrow I will be up and running.

In the meantime, maybe I can get some blogging done and get you caught up on what's been going on with my family. Today and tomorrow D'Nae is playing in a basketball tournament in Robert Lee. I will not be going to this tournament because it is the end of the year and I have a lot of work to get done before January 1st 2009.

2008 6-MAN DIV II STATE CHAMPIONS !!

Okay...If some of you have been living under a rock lately...THE BORDEN COUNTY COYOTES ARE THE 2008 6-MAN DIV II STATE CHAMPIONS !!! I am soooo proud of each and everyone of our boys. They played their hearts out and never gave up. They defeated the Woodson Cowboys Saturday afternoon in Wolfforth 54-8. Not only did they win..they 45'ed Woodson with 4:17 left to go in the game. In doing so...they managed to set a record for the fewest points allowed in a state game. The lowest number previously allowed was 12 points back in 1973 !! TRULY AMAZING !!!!

The Borden County Christmas Basketball tournament was this weekend also. It had to be cut down to two days instead of three because of the football game. The girls defeated Southland Thursday morning then turned around and defeated Wilson Thursday afternoon. On Friday, the girls defeated Anson and then played the Div I # 3 team in the state Roscoe. They came out with a loss in this game and finished the tournament in Second Place. Overall..a very good tournament. They will get their rematch with Stanton tonight in Gail. If you remember, Stanton is the team that gave the girls their first loss of the season !! Hopefully tonight we will have a better outcome !!!

Rhaeden FINALLY got his room clean !! He has been in trouble for 3 weeks about getting his room clean. He spent about 8 1/2 hours in his room yesterday just piddling around. Then when I said supper was ready...He managed to clean it in about 30 minutes. Imagine what he could have been doing all day instead of staying in his room for 8 hours !!! Go figure...then this morning he came in my room and said, "Mom, I made my bed this morning." He was sooo proud of himself.

Maegen has gymastics again today. I guess I will be going back and forth to watch her in gymnastics and to watch the basketball games. The life of having three (four if you count my husband) children !!!

One last note: I forgot to wish my niece, Kacy, a HAPPY BIRTHDAY !! Her birthday was December 4th and they had her party on Saturday the 6th. If you have read...that Saturday was SUPER CRAZY with basketball and Football....so HAPPY BIRTHDAY KACY !!! HOPE YOU HAVE MANY MANY MORE !!!

2008 STATE CHAMPIONS !!!

STATE BOUND !!!

Yeah !! The Borden County Coyotes defeated the Silverton Owls Saturday night and are heading to the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME !!! They will play the Woodson Cowboys this Saturday at 2pm in Wolforth for the State Title. CONGRATULATIONS !!!

Borden County also got their new run thru in on Friday so we got to use it Saturday night. It was AWESOME !!! It is also very HUGE !!! It has smoke and everything !! Very Cool !!!

D'Nae played in a basketball tournament Thursday, Friday and Saturday. They lost their first game to Stanton (they will get a re-match on December 15th) on Thursday. They came back Friday morning and beat a 3A school in Sweetwater..which was very impressive. Then won the consolation game on Saturday at noon against our District Rival Sands. The girls didn't play very good all weekend. They had some girls gone to State FFA and some that were sick. But Overall...a very good tournament. They are currently 9-1 on the year. KEEP IT UP !!

Saturday was a VERY Full day. We left around 10am to go to Coahoma for the tournament. We got back home around 4pm. Just in time for D'Nae to jump in the shower and get ready because the cheerleaders were suppose to pick her up at the house around 5pm. They were a little late (thank goodness) and arrived around 5:20 pm. We left the house around 6pm and headed to the football game. After the game, D'Nae wanted to go eat with the team so we didn't get home until Midnight. Needless to say...I didn't get a whole lot done yesterday...EXCEPT laundry !!

This week doesn't look like I will be slowing down. Maegen has gymnastics today. D'Nae has a basketball game at Forsan tomorrow. The Borden County Basketball tournament is this weekend and with the football game on Saturday they will have to cram 3 days of games into 2 days. Then the Football game on Saturday afternoon !! Not to mention...I HAVE TO WORK !!!

Still Playing Football

The boys won again on Saturday and are the Quarterfinal Champions !!! We will play Silverton in Lubbock on Saturday the 6th @ 7:30pm in the Semi-Final Game !! GO COYOTES !!!

D'Nae plays basketball tonight in Crosbyton and then is in a tournament in Coahoma this weekend. Her first game will be Thursday morning. I won't get to make that game but maybe I will be able to attend the game on Friday...depends on when they play of course.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving !! If you dared to get out on Black Friday...more power to ya !!! I just came on to work and didn't even attempt to go to Lubbock. FYI...I HATE TO SHOP !!!

Can you believe it is already December ?? Man, where has this year gone ? It seems like I just got finished with Tax Season and now it is upon us again. I really must get busy and start putting in some overtime or I am going to be in BIG TROUBLE come April 15th. If this year is any indication of how fast next year is going to go..I better get on the ball !!
