The Garza County Junior Livestock show was this past Saturday. All three kids participated and had a pretty good day. A BIG THANK YOU goes to LaShae and D'Nae for taking the pictures while I ran everywhere !!! THANK YOU !!!

D'Nae was the first one to show with a light weight medium wool. She placed 3rd. Wasn't what we wanted but the lamb that won the class was one that we raised so it was all good.

Rhaeden and D'Nae was both in the heavy weight class. D'Nae was first with a ewe lamb and Rhaeden was 2nd with D'Nae's lamb that we are taking to Houston.


D'Nae came back for Breed Champion and won it and the winner of the light weight class was Reserve Breed Champion. We had raised all 3 of the class winners. It was a good day for the breeder....
Then Grand Champion was awarded to D'Nae !!! The ewe is just AWESOME !!!


Next came Rhaeden and his goat. He was in the light weight class and won his class.




He then came out for Light weight Division champion and was Reserve Division Champ. Rhaeden was soooo excitied.


Maegen got to participate too. They have a Pee-Wee goat show and she got the "show" the goat. She LOVES the goat and is going to have a hard time when the goat doesn't return from Houston I am afraid.

The judge talked to ALL the kids and asked them their name and questions about their goat.

Christmas, New Year, Basketball

Okay...I know it has been a while and Christmas is on the countdown for this year but I haven't talked about Christmas 2008.

Normally we have the Johnson Christmas on Christmas Eve but this year Stacy's brother, Matt, and his family was in Glenrose at her parents all week from Florida so they had the opportunity spend Christmas with all of her family. We had the Johnson Christmas on Friday the 26th at Mom and Dads house. So...on Friday we had mexican food for supper..but let me back up just a couple of hours....Mike has been working on our barn and around 4:45 pm they cut our water line in half. Luckily D'Nae works at a higginbotham so we called down there and had them wait to close until Mike could get there and get the supplies he needed to fix the water line. He starts working to fix the leak that he made and the kids and I went on to Mom and Dads for Christmas. Now..we had Mexican food to eat...didn't wait on Mike of course because we didn't know how long he would be..but just as typical is Mike is..he shows up about the time everyone is having desert. Okay...for those of you that don't know...MIKE LOVES DESERTS !!!! Anytime of the day or night !!! After supper we did the Chinese Christmas and then exchanged gifts. Justin and Jeye had to leave right after the Chinese Christmas because they had to get back home to get ready to go to Austin the next morning. It was nice to get to see them. We don't get to see them very often !!!

I'm still working on my backwards blogging...ha ha...have I got you all totally confused ??? On Christmas morning we woke up and opened gifts. After we opened gifts..PaPa had called and asked if we wanted to come eat Christmas Lunch with them. I went to get in the shower and NO HOT WATER (I think I have already told you this) !! After we ate we came back home and got ready to go to the Bland Christmas. We went down to Mike's grandmother's house around 4pm. We had anything you can imagine to eat..we had the traditional turkey/dressing, we had ham, we had Bar-b-Q..just a wide variety of food...something for everyone !!! We exchanged gifts and then had the Chinese Christmas. It was a lot of fun !!!

The Bland Grandkids !!

For New Years I had a project in mind...I was going to paint the back living room. Ya see, I have that OLD DARK 70's panelling in the WHOLE house !!! I do not have a wall that does not have panelling on it and it is dark !!! The bottom of the drawers even look like panelling. I wanted to paint before we moved into the hosue 4 years ago, but Mike like the panelling so I left it alone. But not anymore !!! We started on Friday morning moving EVERYTHING out of the living room and taping and putting up plastic. I wanted to paint the ceiling too so I was going to use the spray gun. We taped all the trim so that it would still be dark and have a contrast to the room, put plastic up on the fireplace, the closet door and even the utility room door. If you wanted to get to the other end of the house you had to go outside and go around to the other door. Saturday we sprayed the primer, sprayed the ceiling and rolled a coat of paint on. Sunday morning we rolled another coat of paint on and began cleaning up around 3pm. It took a while to get all the tape off. Mom and Dad came out around 4:30 and brought the new Fouton couch I had bought on Wednesday and we began to put it together. Around 7pm we had the couch and the tv (btw we had been without tv since Friday when we moved the tv out and unhooked the satellite) set up. If you look at my living room today...that's all you will see still !!! I haven't put the pictures back up on the walls yet. Anyway, the paint made the room look totally different !!! Here are some pics after we primed the walls and painted the ceiling...wasn't a small task !!!

Last night, D'Nae played basketball against Loraine and the girls won 112-58 !! Yes..you read the score correctly 112 !!! They just played amazing !!! It should give them a good boost of confidence heading into district play this Friday.


Last but not least I guess..my blogging will probably be a little sporadic between now and April 15th. I have a lot of work to do and not much time to get it done in. I will try and blog about things happening but don't get too mad if I don't update as often as you think I should. I will try to hit the high points !!!
